*a happy little bush appears in all future renders*

@ ijzerman - I'm using vue and world machine for these - the first one specifically was generated in world machine, and I use erosion flow map + some others to create the slopes effect on the mountain in vue. basically just rendering out alphas from wM and using them to drive different mats in vue

for the first image- something about the clouds seems a bit off. i think they look too contrat or the edges too sharp, but they dont seem real because of that.
the second image is much better

I started using World Machine recently.

It's a cool little program for sure.

Loving these renders!

Blimey, world machine. I haven't heard that mentioned for a while. I remember beta testing version
one, which must have been over a decade ago.

Very powerful height map generator, I had a lot of fun with it.

I made a script for prewiewing the output in Max. No idea if it works with Max/WorldMachine any more though

I had a play with the demo of world machine a few months ago, with a view to generating texture maps for Cry engine. It looks really cool and you can get some amazingly detailed hires maps. Not too expensive but I wouldn't fork out for it unless I was really going to use it regularly for proper commercial projects.

thx nik

yea world machine is pretty neat, im really enjoying it.

I think each night i will do a different time of day, so tonight's scene will be a nighttime render, tomorrow = a morning render, etc (sequential). I was going to do it like, i would model the sun after the time of day i make the image, but i usually get home around the same time, so that'd get boring.

World Machine is still used a lot especially in games stuff.. Really cool program the natural erosion stuff is superb.. A lot of the stuff i see from it people tend to misjudge scale a lot with it though, which is a kinda difficult thing to judge anyway..

What program did you use for the trees? They're pretty good.
