Maxunderground news unavailable

"Preserve UV's", just doesn't work does it?

I've never quite understood why this feature doesn't work. It does sometimes and if you drag vertices in certain directions but for the most part it just ends up screwing the mapping. Is this a well known max bug or am I doing something wrong?

It doesn't seem to like it when you start Extruding or adding more polygones. However dividing already existing faces works fine for me. I use it a lot when modelling destruction afterwards to buildings and such. However, working across UV-seams might cause some extra problem. I think it works pretty fine, but it has its limitations for sure.

it "works" in certain cases, but not as well as you are hoping it is supposed to.

it works fine on tris and quads so stick to that..

it works fine on flat stuff that's not near the edge of the texture
anything else and it's about hidden lines and geometry
