show user profile  prowler
Hello!
(i had another username once but i forgot it)
Here's a little movie we have made .
4 people work on 4-5 weeks.
soft: 3dmax, vray, nuke.

We know that many things could have been better but a lot of the things we 've learn for the first time and we had our little challenges. I hope in the future we will improve our work.
Anyway here it is:

We need the feedback so any type of it it's welcomed!
If needed will post hd version and other details.

Really cool movie man. Nice bike. I especially like the robot animation. Whoever did that must be the coolest person in the world...

nice work. loved the rider and the bike. the only crit was at 1:10 the ground shake was a little weird. more like a soft bounce instead of what i would expect.

I liked it :)

Only crits would be with editing and music.
First the editing. you guys have done a good job giving it a sense of speed, until 1:24-2:00, where the camera slows down like its 1982... if u had a smoother slowdown it would help.

The music starts off well...appropriately tense. then half way through it goes all classical (which i understand, u wanted to convey a sense of grace), which didnt really fit... and the music changes again. You end up having this start-stop-start thing going which completely kills the sense of speed.

I still liked it though. great rendering , modelling and animation.

Thanks for the positive feedback. (few though :-p)

@ npcph

I'm glad you liked them. About the ground shake maybe we should have put more time(if we had) in this small details.

@mathias_soeholm

the concept of the bike, robot and track was more "design as model" concept. In the future we hope will do it the proper way , with concept sheets etc.

@apocalypse head

We didn't put in images very well the ideas we had.
The idea was that he will start at making 2-3 laps as a tryout then some shots where we show the mistakes he made during those laps and then a final lap where he succeeds to make the target time and here we wanted to give that sense of speed.
But now we can just learn from this movie and put our efforts in future projects.

Cool stuff, however the movie is lacking robot's movements while on the bike. Practically he would never make it through those curves at this speed.. without leaning and scratching the tarmac with his knee...
mistakes look realistic. nice work.
