3ds max licensing Q
show user profile  9krausec
Hey guys.

I have a copy of 3ds 2009 w/ a CD. The CD is only giving me an option to install a 32 bit version of 3ds...

My question is this, if I were to get a ISO image of 2009 64bit, would the license for the 32 bit carry over? If not I will not get a 64 bit ISO image of 3ds and just install 32 bit. Thanks.

Was trying to bypass finding a 64bit ISO of 3ds max if I didn't need to. Turns out, there was a 64 bit installer on the disk but it was buried and the offer of 64 bit installation was not included on the installers UI.

I shall see and report back.

Edit: Won't work on win7. F this legacy shit-

an added question for you. if you have windows 7 32 bit will installing max 64 bit work and or have any benefit over the 32 bit version.

Sorry 9krausec, not meaning to hijack your thread, just didn't want to post a new thread for this question.

You cannot install 64 bit MAX on a 32 bit Win.

That makes no sense. 64 bit MAX is for 64 bit OS.

This is just at work. They had an old 2009 version of 3ds and I thought I lucked out! 2009 models just as well as 2015 (MINUS THE F*CKING QUAD CHAMFER).

Hum, not sure whats wrong with the installer. I had 2009 on win 7 several years back and worked fine for me.

It came right from the CD. Maybe I'll try and get another copy some other way. Don't much care since I have an actual license code for it.
