3ds max hardware bottlenecking?
show user profile  9krausec
Just wondering if 3ds max had a bottleneck on how much cpu power it could utilize for rendering? I am going to be buying a new pc sooner or later and want to know the restrictions on hardware the software holds...

I am so jacked for the choas group to come out with some awesome gpu rendering software..

me too, I have a dual xeon (nehalem) mobo sitting right there...

I saw some vray RT demo videos where the guy explains he is using for those videos a dual quad xeon for the renders, plus a whole bunch of computers like that one net rendering as well...

I think dual quads with ht should be pretty much enough, I'm buying only one quad for the moment and work with that until gpu renders come available, just don't know how long I'll have to wait..
