What`s to say mate cinema4d is another powerful 3d app. I find it great for rapidly prototyping due to it`s really simple but powerful material/lighting/rendering toolset. Working with materials is IMO a step above max. The motion-graphics + fx tools are really good, character workflow too. There`s ThinkingParticles and Dynamics. Pretty much everything is parametrised and highly integrated through XPresso, which is C4D`s node-based visual scripting/automation core. Python integration etc is there also afaik..

It`s a case of try it, it might work for you. I had to hit the ground running with it having never used it before and starting work for a company that used only C4D, but grew to really appreciate it`s power..

yup download the demo and give it a try. I have used c4d since it came out on the pc and love it to bits , i have also used max since it was in its DOS version so i know both apps but c4d to me feels like home

Lots of people seem to pick up cinema to go along with their motion graphics work/after fx without getting really indepth - so I get the impression it's quite easy to pick up in that way.
