3D arrows: how?
show user profile  PaulJBis
Hi all:

I'm trying to make some 3D arrows like the ones you can see at:
http://www.beliefdesign.com/work/index.php?section=work&project=04.Broadcast

(Scroll down to "CNN Entertainment Weekly").

The basic principle, I suppose, is to make a loft object and animate its growth, but there are 2 things that I'm stumbling on:

1) The tip of the arrow. I guess I could create it just by varying the X-scale of the loft, but it looks kind of clumsy.
2) I can't find the way to animate the growth along the path. I'm sure there is an option for this, and I'm sure it's something completely stupid, but I just can't find it.

Does anyone have any ideas, specially for 1)? (I guess 2) is just a matter of reading throughly again the manual).

Thanks in advance,

Paulo.

Yeah man, path deform[wsm]:

For the arrow just make a plane with lots of segments, and tweak the tip to look like an arrow, then pathdeform.

Thanks guys. It worked beautifully. I guess I was so wrapped up in the idea of using a loft object that I didn't even think of a different approach.
