Does exatly what is says on the thread title.

Can you go between the 2 versions, ie. i have 2 years worth of 32 bit files, can i use them in 64 bit max if i buy a 64 bit machine? And can i go back if i have a 64 bit file and want to open it in 32 bit?

yah it works fine both ways, only difference is an extra bit of code that 64bit architectures can see and 32bit cant. All 32bit stuff works just fine and if you save a file out like a .max on a 64bit system, itll be just fine on a 32bit system.
